CLUB FOUNDATION AUCTIONS A HUGE SUCCESS
Alexandria, VA – April 5, 2005 – The Club Foundation is pleased to announce that its ninth annual benefit auctions raised nearly $60,000 for education and scholarly purposes. Both the silent and live auctions were held at the recent Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) World Conference on Club Management in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Club Foundation Live Auction was held on the evening of March 2 and was conducted by Duane Troyer of Troyer & Associates, based in Goshen, Indiana. The Silent Auction was held over a three-day period at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel and opened for bidding on February 28.
More than 110 items were available for bid in the auctions, including unique trips to destinations such as Napa Valley, Hawaii and Hilton Head. One-of-a-kind sports memorabilia signed by Michelle Wie, Joe Paterno, and Greg Maddux , golf cars and equipment, linens, jewelry and china were also up for bid. A complete list of 2005 Club Foundation auction donors is included on the reverse side.
All proceeds from the annual auctions benefit The Club Foundation’s Scholarship and Grant Program and its education fund.
The Club Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, was established by CMAA in 1988. Its mission is to raise funds to financially support the professional development of club managers through education, training and research initiatives.
