JASON WEDL RECIPIENT OF THE CLUB FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Alexandria. VA - August 8, 2003

The Club Foundation is delighted to announce that Mr. Wedl is a recipient of a $2,500 student scholarship for the 2003-2004 academic year. The Club Foundation awards student scholarships annually to those individuals actively pursuing a managerial career in the private club industry. Scholarship recipients are selected by The Club Foundation Allocation Committee (CFAC) and subsequently approved by its Board of Governors.

Jason Wedl, a senior attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout, is majoring in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management with a minor in History. Wedl is an active member of the university's CMAA student chapter, serving as its president since 2002. In addition, he is a member of the Family Weekend Planning Committee and participates in intramural basketball and volleyball.

Along with his other activities, the 2002-2003 academic year also saw Wedl working as a teaching assistant in the Food Production Laboratory where some of his responsibilities included giving lectures, planning menus and developing recipes. Wedl greatly enjoys all the diverse aspects associated with the private club industry and is looking forward to a challenging career (more) when he graduates.

The Club Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established by CMAA in 1988. Its mission is to raise funds to financially support the professional development of club managers through education, training and research initiatives.
