| MONA OLSEN RECIPIENT OF THE CLUB FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP | Alexandria.

| The
Club Foundation is delighted to announce that Ms. Mona Olsen is
a recipient of a $2,500 student scholarship for the 2003-2004 academic
year. The Club Foundation awards student scholarships annually to
those individuals actively pursuing a managerial career in the private
club industry. Scholarship recipients are selected by The Club Foundation
Allocation Committee (CFAC) and subsequently approved by its Board
of Governors.
Mona Olsen, a senior at Cornell University, is majoring in Hospitality Management with a minor in Hospitality Technology. Olsen is an active member of the university's CMAA student chapter and was elected as its 2003-2004 President. In addition to her student chapter activities, Olsen participates in the Hotel School Ambassador program and is a volunteer for ėSpringtime in the Park.î She is also a member of the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, Ye Hosts Honorary Society and the Golden Key International Honor Society. During the summer of 2002, Olsen had the opportunity to study abroad in Stavanger, Norway, with Michigan State University's Hospitality Program. She spent the previous school year working as a Student Computer Assistant III for The Statler Hotel and as a teaching assistant for Club Management and IT for Hospitality Managers. This summer, she will be (more) working as a Human Relations Intern at the Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, MD. The Club Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established by CMAA in 1988. Its mission is to raise funds to financially support the professional development of club managers through education, training and research initiatives. |
