| BRYAN FISHER RECIPIENT OF THE CLUB FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP | Alexandria.

| The
Club Foundation is delighted to announce that Mr. Bryan Fisher is
a recipient of a $2,500 student scholarship for the 2003-2004 academic
year. The Club Foundation awards student scholarships annually to
those individuals actively pursuing a managerial career in the private
club industry. Scholarship recipients are selected by The Club Foundation
Allocation Committee (CFAC) and subsequently approved by its Board
of Governors.
Bryan Fisher, a junior attending Portland State University, is majoring in Finance and General Management. He currently works full time as the Student Assistant Manager at Waverly Country Club and his club manager provides him the opportunity to pursue on-going education through the Club Managers Association of Oregon and through daily mentoring. Furthermore, Fisher is a member of the university's Financial Management Association, a recipient of the 2001 Vern Perry Scholarship, and he helped organize the Vern Perry Scholarship golf tournament. Furthermore, he is a volunteer foster care provider for twins and spends two days a week as a big brother and mentor. Fisher's ultimate goal is to utilize his personal characteristics and professional experiences in order to become a successful general manager of a private golf and country club. (more) Finally, he hopes to obtain the Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation, a process that requires about five additional years of education, training and experience within the private club industry. The Club Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established by CMAA in 1988. Its mission is to raise funds to financially support the professional development of club managers through education, training and research initiatives. |
