Wine
Auction
The 78th Annual CMAA World
Conference on Club Management in New Orleans proved to be
one of the most successful Conferences ever, and the CMAA
International Wine Society did everything possible to contribute
to this success. The Society’s silent and live auctions
raised approximately $48,000 to benefit The Club Foundation.
This tremendous accomplishment
was made possible through the hard work of Art Barajas, CCM.
This gentleman gave countless hours planning and assembling
the Auction and soliciting donations from managers, purveyors
and friends. Many thanks on a magnificent effort!
Furthermore, the Wine
Society Chapter Representatives deserve to be recognized
for their tireless efforts to gather and ship donations.
Without such generous, high-quality donations, the Wine Society
auctions could not have been such a phenomenal success.
Each year, the Bucky Trophy
is awarded to the chapter that donates the most wine by wholesale
value to the auctions. In 2005, the winner of the Bucky Competition
was the Metropolitan Chapter. The Metropolitan chapter contributed
substantially to the auctions and collected the honor of
the trophy and an education grant from The Club Foundation
for its efforts. Many thanks to all chapters, purveyors and
individuals who graciously made donations to the International
Wine Society auctions! Additionally, many thanks to the Wine
Society for its support of The Club Foundation through its
auctions! |
