This year was tremendous
for The Club Foundation! The Campaign to Promote
Excellence … Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow received
stronger commitments from long term supporters, as well as
significant commitments from new partners. The third annual
National Club Championship was a huge success. As a result,
the possibilities for the future of this event are extremely
bright.
Furthermore, the next
stages of development for specialized and expanded educational
opportunities for the industry are flourishing. The Foundation
will, again, take a lead role in funding many of these initiatives
due to the financial support shown by our partners.
Thanks to your generous
donations to The Campaign to Promote Excellence...Yesterday,
Today and Tomorrow, The Club Foundation is able to continually
develop new educational offerings, support existing professional
development programs and offer current and new scholarships
and grant requests. For example, the Foundation has begun
the enhancement to BMI III with the help of a long term partner,
Jonas Software. In addition, beginning with the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas, this software will be available to
students pursuing a managerial career in the club industry.
By including current industry software as part of the coursework,
club managers and students gain practical, hands-on experience
working with the tools of the trade.
Thanks to your dedication
as CMAA members, the annual National Club Championship has
been successful in increasing club member and industry vendor
awareness of CMAA. As you know, this prestigious event
provides a national platform for all club champions from
around the country to compete at the highest levels. This
last year, we were able to add the inaugural CMAA Pro-Am,
sponsored by Toshiba Business Solutions. In addition,
we hosted a delegation from Cadillac in hopes of garnering
their support as a possible title sponsor for 2006 event.
Those efforts proved successful. The success of the 2005
NCC tournament, held at Pinehurst served to strengthen our
belief that the possibilities are endless. The 2006 CMAA
National Club Championship presented by Cadillac is a reality.
As individuals become
more aware of the nuances of the club industry, the demand
for additional specialized educational opportunities increases.
CMAA continues to expand its reach by adding new BMI courses
pertaining to Golf Operations, as well as Leadership Skills.
Thanks to the generous support we receive from our loyal
donors, to the CF will help CMAA defray the costs associated
with developing these professional development programs.
In conclusion, I am honored
to be associated with the only charitable organization committed
to the private club industry future as a viable business. The
benefits to CMAA members, as well as the industry at large,
are vividly demonstrated through the Foundation’s Scholarship
and Grant Program. I am extremely proud of how far
The Club Foundation has come and excited about the future
that it will provide.
