Chairman's Report

Jay DiPietro , CCM

My first year as Chairman of The Club Foundation has been very exciting. During 2005, we made considerable strides towards our long term goals. Several major donors stepped forward to make significant contributions to TheCampaign to Promote Excellence...Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.  This ensures our commitment to provide  enhanced educational opportunities will continue long into the future. In addition, the third annual National Club Championship (NCC) was a great success, as club champions from around the world competed on four separate world-class courses at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. As a result of the efforts of all of you, the Foundation is able to support existing programs and new educational initiatives focused on the club industry. All of these commitments are made possible by your support of the Club Foundation

Resources from The Campaign to Promote Excellence…Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow will support existing programs and help fund development of new programs.  For example in FY 2005, we were able to award seven student scholarships, four manager scholarships, four faculty internships, and a faculty research grant. As the industry continues to evolve, the development of high quality continuing education is essential to providing the best tools available to our current and future industry leaders.

The National Club Championship, building on the success of the past two tournaments, headed to a new venue, Pinehurst Resort, home of the 2005 U.S. Open.  An addition to the event this year was the Pro-Am, in which local club pros paired with their club champions to compete against other similar teams. Foursomes were rounded out by two amateurs playing a “better ball” format to compete for prizes. This pre-tournament activity was sponsored by Toshiba Business Solutions and was a huge success.

The Club Foundation will continue to guarentee your future through lifetime professional development as well as the future professionals of this industry. All education program grants, research projects and scholarships are made possible; thanks to your generous efforts. We look forward to your continued support.
